Central Records | Carleton College Archives

Central Records' primary responsibility is to collect information about alumni and other donors; this record group, however, is comprised of the subject files which CR also accumulated. Because CR is a subunit of the Development Office, the single largest subgroup here relates to capital campaigns and other fundraising efforts. But to some extent, almost the entire universe of Carleton activities is represented. This is the single largest and most comprehensive record group in the Carleton Archives.

At the subgroup and series level, original order was largely followed but at the subseries and folder levels the archives have done some rearrangement.  Central Records is arranged into 16 collections each documenting an activity of the department: Development, Alumni Association, Outside Associations, Other Colleges and Universities, Government, A Better Chance (ABC), Other Summer Programs, Academic Departments, Special Academic Programs, Administrative Offices, Committees, Publications, Students, Events, Property and Equipment, Miscellaneous.
