ID: 07/R4-OH

Extent: 0.0

Arrangement: Original non-digital recordings: audio and video cassettes are housed in numbered boxes, and a small number of reel to reel tapes are housed in a single separate box.

Scope and Contents of the Materials

Hundreds of recorded interviews with Carleton faculty, alumni, staff and others conducted through the Carleton Oral History Program. Formally this program started in 1991 but Carleton's oral history collection also contains older recordings of a similar nature back to 1971, as well as some subsequent interviews or narrations created independently and then donated.

Approval for online access to these interviews has been given by most, but not all interview participants. Some interviews have restricted access altogether for a stipulated period of time, and may presently be listened to only with the narrator's individual permission.

Administrative Information

Repository: Carleton College Archives

Accruals: The entire analog portion of the collection was digitized in 2013.  The project was funded by a donation from Robert Andres, Class of 1972, for digitization of recordings in the College Archives.

Access Restrictions: As stipulated for some interviews.
