Name: Gray, John H. (John Henry) (1859-1946)

Historical Note: Professor of Economics, 1920-1925 at Carleton College.  He retired on The Carnegie Foundation, 1925.  He resigned his position at Carleton to resume his position as chief analyst and examiner of the Interstate Commerce commission bureau of valuation.  He was a former professor at Northwestern (1892-1907), University of Minnesota (1907-1920) and University of California (summer 1914), and later professor at the Graduate School of the American University (1928-1932). He once made the Dutch government run a free special train to enable him to get to London on the Coronation Day of Edward VII.
