Faculty Recital Organ Music of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries: From Stylus Fantasticus to Style Galant: Program I Lawrence Archbold, organ This concert is the sixteenth in the continuing series, "Exploring Organ Music," presented by Lawrence Archbold, the Enid and Henry Woodward College Organist. The program marks the 300th anniversary of the death of Dieterich Buxtehude with a selection of his works, including the Passacaglia in d and the Praeludium in E, that illustrate the stylus fantasticus. From the middle of the eighteenth century come works by J. L. Krebs, C. P. E. Bach, and Galuppi that illustrate the style galant. Closing the program is one of J.S. Bach's greatest preludes and fugues, the "Great" A Minor.
